Embrace learning as a competitive advantage and life-giving force.
Starting with an attitude of open-mindedness is critical. You just can't reach out with folded arms. Change your thinking from "I can't do that" to "I'll figure out a way to make that happen." Instead of telling yourself why you can't do it, tell yourself you might not be able to do it yet, but you're willing to pay the price. Start with free courses, hire professionals, read books, watch YouTube videos, and do whatever is necessary to learn new skills that help you.
Seek assistance. You don't have to do it on your own. Today we have access to the best brainpower through books, audio and video recordings, and live free coaching. Be willing to part with your TME (Time, Money, Energy) to get what you need.
Stop the activities that don't help you. Tough one. It is so deceptively easy to be drawn to a dramatic story on the news. Turn off that radio. Unplug your TV. Stop wasting time reading unwanted news. Fill that wasted time with learning from great sources. Learn market-valued skills, so people want to hire you.
Focus on achieving mastery. Trick yourself into believing you can, but psychologists tell us even over-achieving salespeople can't multitask. Shut off your social media, let your phone calls go to voice mail, and pour yourself into the task at hand. This is part of paying the price, and it is worth it.
Practice As the saying goes, repetition is the mother of learning. Practice the right way. Do it 1,000 times till it becomes natural, then do it another 1,000 times.
Watch YouTube A one-stop shop for the greatest videos of all time, YouTube. Be willing to wade through some of the junk videos to find the gems. Pay the price and spend time learning through this rich reservoir of resources.
Advantage of Mind mapping Amazing tool for learning great amounts of information in a visual form. A great way to organise details and learn better. Google this one and learn about it.
Never give up Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep going. Tough situations build strong people in the end. Do not fear failure but rather fear not trying.
Have fun. Recollect why you're learning. If it isn't fun, you decrease learning. Keep it fun in productive ways that keep you motivated.
The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honourable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well. In a gentle way, you can shake the world. Happy learning.
